Husum
This pleasant North Sea harbour town is not only worth a visit for shopping. Its cultural programme includes numerous events that attract visitors to return time and again to the town made famous by the writer Theodor Storm.
Husum’s Crocus Blossom Festival takes place every March, when the Schlosspark is transformed into a sea of lilac crocuses.
The Husum Harbour Days is the largest public festival on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. Lasting five days, visitors can enjoy a programme of diverse events and highlights.
Biikebrennen on 21 February
The burning of beacons, Biikebrennen, traditionally takes in February, when the biike fires are lit in many places across North Frisia. Watching the bonfires is always followed by the traditional grünkohl feast.
